Song Of The Day 2/16/2013: Leroy Van Dyke - "The Auctioneer"

A phenomenal 1950's classic (though this was filmed in '62) from country singer Leroy Van Dyke, who's still around. This track sold over two million copies as a single and spawned the global auctioneer craze, soon succeeded, as all crazes are, by the bank teller craze, the showroom model craze and the Silicon Valley investor craze. Did you know that the Missouri Auction School, founded in 1905, is considered "The Harvard of Auctioneering"? It's true. But that was before the doping scandals. Now every student has to be tested by spitting in a cup.
